About Danuna Glass
Danuna Glass was established in 2014 by Irish studio Glass Artist Catherine Wilcoxson. Under the brand name Danuna Glass, Catherine is launching new product lines including fused decorative glass plates and glass wall art.
Catherine studied at Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design and graduated from the National College of Art and Design, specialising in Glass. At that time she also attended Summer Workshops and Seminars in France, England and Scotland gaining skills and knowledge from established international Glass Artists.
Later she travelled to the USA where she was employed by Artisan Glass Blowing Studios in Berkely and Oakland, California
From the late 1990's she was privately commissioned to make marble and glass mosaics. Her mosaic bowls were first exhibited in her solo show at the Courthouse Arts Centre, Co. Wicklow in 2001. Her work has since been exhibited in Ireland, England, Belgium and Italy.
Danuna Glass has developed a unique mosaic method to produce intricate designs and patterns in Kilnformed glass. The fused glass mosaic technique used at Danuna Glass is complex and detailed. Each item is made up of dozens, hundreds or thousands of tiny individual cut pieces of glass.
